Our editorial standards
Decriptech exists to explain technology clearly and accurately — without hype, jargon or hidden agendas. This page explains how our guides are created, checked and kept up to date.
How we choose topics
We focus on the questions people genuinely ask about the technology in their lives: how things work, how to fix common problems, how to stay safe online, and how to choose the right device or app. Topics are selected using search data and reader interest.
How our guides are made
Our guides are produced using a structured process that combines AI tools with defined quality checks:
- Research and drafting. Each guide is researched and drafted with the help of AI writing tools, following a strict brief: plain English, clear steps, accurate terminology and no invented facts, statistics, specifications or product claims.
- Fact-checking. Every draft goes through a separate fact-checking step that verifies specific claims — technical details, features, settings, standards and security advice — against reputable sources on the web. Claims that cannot be verified are removed or rewritten.
- Security and privacy review. Guides that touch on accounts, passwords, data, payments or device settings are checked for missing or incorrect security advice.
- Quality review. Guides are scored for usefulness, clarity and structure. Anything below our standard is revised or not published.
- Publishing. Only guides that pass every check are published.
What we don’t do
- We don’t publish hands-on product reviews or rankings. We don’t test devices in a lab, so we don’t pretend to. Our buying advice explains what features matter and how to choose — not which specific model “wins”.
- We don’t publish news. Our guides are evergreen explainers and how-tos.
- We don’t accept payment for coverage.
Images
Images on Decriptech are generated with AI image tools to illustrate each topic. They are representative illustrations, not photographs of specific products, screens or interfaces, and should not be relied on for technical detail.
Technology changes fast
Software updates, menus, prices and features change often, and they can differ by device, version and country. Our guides describe the general approach; if a setting or option looks different on your device, check the manufacturer’s or app’s official help pages.
Security advice
Our security and privacy guides are general information, not professional security consulting. If you believe an account, device or payment method has been compromised, contact the provider directly and act quickly.
Accuracy and corrections
If you spot an error or something out of date, please tell us via our Contact page with the article title and what needs correcting. We review every report and update guides promptly when a correction is needed.
Keeping guides current
We review and update guides when better information becomes available. The date on each guide reflects when it was published or last updated.
Independence
We are not paid to cover or recommend any product, brand or service. If we use affiliate links in the future, they will be clearly disclosed and will never influence what we recommend.
